You may be the first to notice, but you don’t have to be the only one who cares.
Maybe it’s your parent who used to answer every call that now lets the phone ring, or maybe it’s your spouse who once kept everything straight that is now missing appointments. Whether you’re just noticing changes or have been taking care of a loved one for years, we’re here to help them and you.

What you’re doing is hard
We’re not here to take over what you’re already doing so well; we’re here to help, so what you do doesn’t feel as heavy.
Caregiving can feel like a long list of things nobody fully explained. You may be juggling insurance, appointments, medications, transportation, and family opinions, all on top of your own life and other responsibilities. Author Health provides mental and behavioral health care,
healthcare coordination, and resource support for aging adults. We work with your loved one, their current providers, and you, so care feels less complicated and more connected, freeing up more time and energy for you and the people you care for to enjoy life more.

Support, such as respite, for caregivers
How to get started
When a loved one starts neglecting habits, avoiding things they once loved, or seems less steady, less interested, or more easily upset, it can bring up a lot of questions.
If you’re wondering if something is really wrong? Is this just part of aging? Is it stress? Is it memory-related? Is it time to get more help? Author Health is here to help. We’ll help you sort through those questions with care, not judgment or jumping to a worst-case scenario.
Connect
Call us to talk over your questions or fill out the form or send us your concerns, and we’ll contact you. No obligations, nothing has to be decided right now. We’ll talk over what you’ve been seeing, what you’ve noticed in your loved one, how we can help, and check your coverage on the spot. If you feel Author Health would be helpful for you as a caregiver and your loved one, we’ll set up their first appointment within the next two weeks.
Discover
The first appointment takes about 90 minutes. This will be a virtual session in which an assessment will help determine your loved one's health and match their needs with their care team. If your loved one isn’t comfortable with technology, we have in-person health workers who can come help set things up and connect to the session.
Support
Once your loved one completes their intake appointment, ongoing care and support will be provided through their personalized care team. Support continues through follow-up visits, medication support when appropriate, therapy or counseling, and help with community resources.
You know your loved one best. We bring the care team to help.
We build a care team around your loved one’s needs and support them in the ways you feel are best.
Personalized care
Whether they need medication support, help planning or attending appointments, talk therapy, or a blend of other services, we're here to help.
Here for you, too
Our services are designed to work together to make both of your lives easier. We can also provide supportive services for you, such as therapy, to help you thrive in your caregiving role.
Depending on your needs, your care team may include:

No one needs another surprise medical bill. We check coverage before care begins.
Author Health is in-network for traditional Medicare, including the GUIDE program, Medicare-Medicaid dual-eligible coverage, and many Medicare Advantage and Special Needs Plans. Depending on your loved one’s plan and where they live, services may be available at no cost or with a copay. Before the first appointment, our team will review coverage and explain any expected out-of-pocket costs.
Your story matters, we’re here to hear it all.
