CEO Kristen Helton, who previously served as director of the now defunct Amazon Care, said the startup's "fundamental goal is to elevate the patient experience and provide meaningful in-person and virtual support that provides women 65+ with a primary care experience designed specifically for them."

Author Health debuts with $115 million to deliver hybrid care to seniors with serious mental illness

Author Health launched on Wednesday with $115 million in financing to deliver virtual and in-person care for Medicare Advantage recipients with serious mental illness and substance-use disorders. CEO Katherine Hobbs said the company was "born out of the necessity to fundamentally shift how our health system prioritises behavioural health and preventive services."
